The Morad Heavy Duty VHF-159HD AIS VHF antenna is center-tuned to 159 Mhz for optimum coverage at each end of the VHF Marine AIS Bandwidth. The VHF-159HD is custom built and ships direct to the customer only after passing quality hand-testing. The VHF-159HD is designed to give years of optimum performance under the most severe weather and vibration conditions. Due to its superb propagation pattern and low angle of radiation, clipping and fading are minimized. This antenna design ensures consistent outperformance compared to the competition. Use of a larger diameter rod, instead of a small wire, decreases resistive losses and provides an increased radiating surface. The VHF-159HD is base fed through a PL-259 UHF connector and a 50 OHM coaxial cable and can be mounted on any Morad 1" diameter stanchion for extra height.
